In 2000, Takata became a leader in providing highly reliable steering systems to the world by acquiring the Petri Group, a German supplier of steering wheels that was the first in the world to install airbags in mass production vehicles. In recent years, Takata has begun producing fully integrated steering systems with die-cast magnesium frames, urethane foaming/trimming and leather wrapping for a wide variety of applications. Our steering wheels are produced to global high standards in Germany, Romania, Poland, Mexico, Brazil and China.
